www.HoknesComics.comMarvel Comics in March 2016 released a month long theme for each title with a special women of power variant comic.
The first comics in the series was released on March 2nd 2016 and included 25 different covers throughout March 2016. Marvel did not show the cover artwork in advance so its likely that most stores ordered very small quantities of the earliest issues. These could prove to be collectible in the future once their rarity is realized.
www.Comichron.com will have this data a month after release for the complete print run of all covers combined but we do not know the print run of these covers specifically.
All issues are "qualifying" variants which means stores had to order a certain quantity based on a past order to qualify to order them. Many retailer do not bother buying these. Most of them were that you had to top 90% of your original orders on a similar released comic in the past.
It is likely in most cases that the print run is between 1,000 and 2,000 each for each cover. Amazing Spider-man would be the most common.
Marvel is releasing more and more of these. They display very nicely as they are montage style covers featuring all the main characters and villains in the series. Female covers are growing in popularity so many of these may prove to be very popular with collectors long term.
Its only time before collectors start to realize how hard these are to find. Since these are variants they are all guaranteed sell outs at Diamond even before release so retailers will not be able to ever order extra copies after the release date.
