APE CHRONICLES #50 1st printing (small print run from POTA Fan Club)
Articles, interviews, photos, reviews, and tons more that has never been
printed or seen anywhere else!
Unfortunately in the summer of 2011 Terry Hoknes had a major
hard drive crash and lost almost everything relating to the fan club's 20 year
history and our website domain time ran out so Terry decided not to renew the
website. However luckily we are still able to make all 50 issues of Ape
Chronicles still available ! Please email with any questions.
ISSUES INDEX #1-25
Here is a quick reference to find articles from our first 25 issues that everyone can use
for finding an article they want to read without flipping through these 500 pages of
articles. For those of you who do not own every issue this is a great place to
start in deciding which issues have articles that interest you. I have personally
rated each issue for its overall usefulness and educational articles

Timeline of the
Planet of the Apes: The Definitive Chronology
Now Available from
Hasslein Books
This
322-page volume, created to help celebrate the 40th
anniversary of the Planet of the Apes film franchise, is now
available for online purchase from Hasslein Books.
NEW YORK, Nov. 24, 2008—It may be difficult to
imagine, but Planet of the Apes, adopted for the silver screen
in 1968 from Pierre Boulle's classic novel The Monkey Planet,
turns 40 this year. In the four decades since its theatrical
release, this classic post-apocalyptic science fiction drama has
riveted audiences with its stunning performances, brilliant
make-up work, resonant soundtrack and powerful statements
regarding humanity, science and religion, as well as the
jaw-dropping revelation in its legendary final moments.
But that was just the beginning of the story.
Four sequels, two television series, a 2001 re-make, and more
than a dozen novels and 120 comic books later, Planet of the
Apes remains a living, breathing mythos, with a new movie
(Genesis: Apes) currently in the works. To commemorate the
film's landmark 40th anniversary, Hasslein Books
announces the online availability of Timeline of the Planet of
the Apes: The Definitive Chronology, a hefty softcover volume
that explores:
• How a small-scale simian rebellion grew, in so
short a time, into a complete, planet-wide reversal of fates for
humanity and apekind
• How the apes acquired the power of speech—while
mankind was rendered mute
• Where the plague that ravaged the planet came
from, and the effects it had not only on man and ape, but on
other creatures as well
• The unique simian and human cultures that
spawned around the globe in the war's aftermath—and how the
Statue of Liberty ended up in pieces on a desolate beach
Timeline of the Planet of the Apes: The
Definitive Chronology examines these and other questions,
presenting every recorded event of the Planet of the Apes saga
in its proper chronological context—from long before Caesar's
birth to far beyond Earth's destruction. This book covers every
film, TV episode, cartoon, novel, comic, short story and
audio-tale produced under the Planet of the Apes banner over the
past four decades—including a number of rejected or unpublished
tales unavailable (and, in many cases, unknown) to fans. No
other reference book has covered the expanded Apes saga so
completely.
Along
with a painstakingly detailed timeline spanning millennia, this
322-page volume features a gallery of more than 350 cover
images, a recommended viewing/reading order, an examination of
time travel in the Planet of the Apes mythos (both on screen and
in print), and a title/creator index of published fiction—plus,
many insightful notes throughout the book, discussing
preliminary and discarded story concepts, inconsistencies,
discontinuities, unpublished lore and other fascinating trivia.
