TROOPER - THE MOMENT THAT IT TAKES (1978)

Album:  Thick As Thieves (1978)

October 31st 2001 - my #6 favorite daily song for 44 days at age 30 while working on the Trooper karaoke CD with Neil Meckelborg.

In the fall of 2001 record engineer Neil Meckelborg wanted to license and record Canadian songs for karaoke CD's that were unavailable.  We worked on a Trooper karaoke tribute CD featuring most of the songs from their greatest hit Hot Shots album.   The project started with me performing all the keyboards, bass, drum, horns, strings parts all sequenced.  He hired John Lisi to add guitar tracks and Neil mixed and packaged and did the licensing.  Finally these great songs by Trooper were available across Canada in karaoke format.

Thick as Thieves is the fourth album by Canadian rock band Trooper, released in 1978. The album was produced by Randy Bachman of Bachman–Turner Overdrive and The Guess Who fame. The album went platinum in their home country, and featured the group's only successful U.S. single, "Raise a Little Hell". This album also contained the hit "Round, Round We Go" written and sung by Frank Ludwig, and "The Moment That it Takes" written by Stewart and Underhill and sung by Ludwig.

Trooper is a Juno Award winning Canadian rock band that developed from a group formed by vocalist Ramon McGuire and guitarist Brian Smith in 1975. The group is best known for its Canadian hits: "Raise a Little Hell", "We're Here for a Good Time (Not a Long Time)", "The Boys in the Bright White Sports Car", "General Hand Grenade

THE STRAY CATS - RUMBLE IN BRIGHTON (1982)

Album:  Built For Speed (1982)

I bought this brand new in January 1983 at the record shop that was on 2nd Ave - possibly a Sam The Record Man just south of The Bay at that time when I turned 12 in Grade 7.

Built for Speed is the first American album from the rockabilly band Stray Cats. It was the most successful record for the band, with the videos for songs such as "Rock This Town" and "Stray Cat Strut" reaching MTV regular rotation status. This album is a compilation of 12 songs taken from the band's first two albums which were released in the UK. Six songs from Stray Cats and five songs from Gonna Ball plus the title track, which had not previously been released in the UK. The title track can also be heard in the 1984 film Surf II.

Stray Cats are an American rockabilly band formed in 1980 by guitarist/vocalist Brian Setzer (Bloodless Pharaohs/Brian Setzer Orchestra), upright bassist Lee Rocker and Slim Jim Phantom (drums) in the Long Island town of Massapequa, New York. The group had numerous hit singles in the UK, Australia and the U.S. including "Stray Cat Strut", "Sexy and 17", "Look at That Cadillac," "I Won't Stand in Your Way", "Bring it Back Again", and "Rock This Town", which the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame has listed as one of the 500 most important songs in the history of rock and roll.

THE PLAGUE - LOVE AND OBEY (1969)

Album: Strictly Canadian (1969) compilation various artists

Unique various artists compilation of unknown groups from across Canada in the 1960's.  My grandparents had this in their home and I started listening to it in 1984 at age 13 on Taylor Street.  This album features all the popular genres of the era.   I made this video for the obscure song for youtube.

This band I believe was from Regina, SK, Canada.

July 18th 1989 - my #8 favorite daily song for 1 day at age 18 the summer before entering 1st year University at Muenster, SK.   We were busy working on our family business close out sale at Walters Cycle Co.

    ERIC CARMEN - SUNRISE (1976) hit #34

Eric Carmen is an album by rock and roll musician Eric Carmen. It is also his first of two self-titled albums, the other released in 1984. It peaked at #21 on the Billboard album chart on its release in 1975 (see 1975) and generated the #2 pop single "All by Myself" in the same year. The song reached #1 on the Cashbox and Record World charts. The album also included two follow-up Top 40 hits, "Never Gonna Fall in Love Again" (#11), and "Sunrise" (#34), both of which charted in 1976.

Eric Howard Carmen (born August 11, 1949) is an American singer, songwriter, guitarist and keyboardist.  He scored numerous hit songs across the 1970s and 1980s, first as a member of the Raspberries (who had a million-selling single with "Go All The Way"), and then with his solo career, including hits such as "All By Myself", "Never Gonna Fall in Love Again", "She Did It", "Hungry Eyes", and "Make Me Lose Control".

His first two solo singles were chart hits in 1976. Both were built around themes by Sergei Rachmaninoff. The first of these singles, "All By Myself" – based on Rachmaninoff's Piano Concerto No. 2 – hit number 2 in the United States, and number 12 in the United Kingdom where it was his only charting hit. It sold over one million copies, and was awarded a gold disc by the R.I.A.A. in April 1976.[3] The follow-up single, "Never Gonna Fall in Love Again" – based on the main theme of the slow movement of Rachmaninoff's Symphony No. 2 – reached number 11 on the Billboard Hot 100, and hit number one on the US Adult Contemporary Chart, as well as number one on the Cash Box chart. Two years after its 1975 release, this self-titled album was certified Gold in 1977 for sales of more than 500,000 copies. "That's Rock and Roll" was also a number 3 hit single for singer Shaun Cassidy.

PAUL McCARTNEY & WINGS - LONDON TOWN (1978) hit #39
London Town" is the title track from Wings' 1978 album London Town.   The song was written by Paul McCartney and Denny Laine in Perth, Australia during the Wings Over the World tour and features a lead vocal by Paul McCartney and backing vocals by Linda McCartney and Laine. A top 40 hit in the United States (#39 on the Billboard Hot 100), the single topped out at #60 in the UK. Author Chris Ingham praised the song as one of the best on the album, stating it was "full of the most sensitive pop synthesizer touches." McCartney biographer Peter A. Carlin called the song " a pleasantly spaced-out perspective on city life

London Town is the sixth studio album by the band Wings, released in 1978.   Recording the album was a long and tumultuous project which saw the loss of two band members, the birth of a baby and the release of the then best-selling single in British history. Wings band member Denny Laine covered "Children Children" and "Deliver Your Children" in 2007 on his album Performs the Hits of Wings     After the commercial zenith of 1976 with Wings at the Speed of Sound and its well-received Wings Over the World tour, leader Paul McCartney planned on making 1977 a similar year. However, things did not quite work out as planned.
ROCKY BURNETTE - TIRED OF TOEIN' THE LINE (1980)
Tired of Toein' the Line" is the name of a song written and performed by Rocky Burnette. The song became an international hit when released as a single in 1980. The song's lyrics detail an imminent breakup.

By peaking at number eight on the Billboard Hot 100, "Tired of Toein' the Line" tied "You're Sixteen" as the highest-charting Hot 100 single from a member of the Burnette family. The single was also #1 in Australia.

In 1988, British singer Shakin' Stevens released a cover version of the song on his album "A Whole Lotta Shaky

Rocky Burnette (born Jonathan Burnette, 12 June 1953) is an American rock and roll singer/musician and the son of rock and roll pioneer, Johnny Burnette. He is best known for his 1980 hit single "Tired of Toein' the Line."

Rocky Burnette was born in Memphis, Tennessee, and became part of the early 1980s revival of the rockabilly style. He released his first album, Son of Rock 'n' Roll, on EMI America in 1979. In the summer of 1980, his single "Tired of Toein' the Line" became a Top Ten hit in the United States. The song was also popular internationally, becoming a #1 hit in Australia and peaking at #3 in South Africa. It reached #58 in the UK Singles Chart.EMI America's financial problems interfered with promotion efforts for the follow-up singles (several of which became hits in other countries), and Burnette's second album, Heart Stopper, was not successful.

In 1981, Burnette toured Europe with the final version of his late father's The Rock and Roll Trio. He also used the band on his next album, Get Hot or Go Home! on Enigma Records. It also sold poorly, and Enigma dropped Burnette and the Trio rather than release a follow-up.

    SHAKIRA - SHE WOLF (2009) hit #11
She Wolf" is a song by Colombian singer–songwriter Shakira taken from her third English-language studio album of the same name. Shakira wrote and produced the track with John Hill, and Sam Endicott (lead singer and songwriter of The Bravery). The song was released as the lead single worldwide and is being distributed with a Spanish version "Loba", which is being used to promote the album in Spanish-speaking countries.

"Loba" premiered on June 29, 2009, and was played on various radio stations. Shakira premiered "She Wolf" on Z100 and KIIS-FM on July 13, 2009, and the single was available to download from the following day. The song hit U.S. radio on July 21, 2009

The song made its official debut on the Billboard Hot Latin Songs at number twenty-three, becoming Shakira's best debut on this chart since her 2007 collaboration with Alejandro Sanz, "Te Lo Agradezco, Pero No". It has since peaked at number one, becoming Shakira's eighth number-one single and making her the seventh artist (and second female artist behind Gloria Estefan) with most number-one Latin hits. The song has also earned Shakira her fourteenth top ten single on the chart, making her the fifth female artist with most top ten hits on the chart tying with Selena and just behind Gloria Estefan, Ana Gabriel, Rocío Dúrcal, and Ednita Nazario. "Loba" also hit number one on the Latin Pop Songs chart, becoming her tenth number-one song on the chart, eventually making her the first female artist to achieve this feat and the fourth artist with the most number-one hits (behind Enrique Iglesias, Cristian Castro, and Luis Miguel). The song also topped Billboard Tropical Songs. After its digital release, "She Wolf" debuted on the Billboard Hot 100 at number thirty-four on the issue date of August 1, 2009, making it Shakira's best debut ever on the Hot 100 and her sixth top forty hit. Reaching a peak of #11, it has become one of her highest-charting songs behind "Beautiful Liar" (number three), "Hips Don't Lie" (number one), "Whenever, Wherever" (number six), and "Underneath Your Clothes" (number nine). During the same week, it also debuted on the Canadian Hot 100 at number sixty and has so far reached number five

MARILYN FAYE PARNEY - TEXAS IN HER DREAMS (1998)

Album: Unbridled Heart (1998)

February 1st 1999 - my #3 favorite daily song for 25 days at age 28 on the road 5.5 years with Marilyn now performing as a Duo full time touring western Canada.  I sing the low male vocal part on the chorus sections of this song recorded in Vancouver.

Marilyn released her debut CD in 1993 and I joined her 2nd band lineup starting in July 1993 at age 22 which caused me to not return to University to get my degree and I also quit playing in the bands The Shade and Whats His Name And The Other Guys.   I also quit my job at Collectors Edge and retired from my radio show History Lesson which was on weekly on CFCR FM in Saskatoon where I taught the history of pop music.   By going on the road it also caused me to stop listening to all the current top 40 hits for the first time and I lost touch with music in the mid 90's making it my least favorite period of popular music.  I had wanted to be in a full time band that would tour especially overseas.  We toured constantly Western Canada as a full band from 1993 to 1996 before switching to a duo to be more financially rewarding for the two of us.  We played certain songs off her debut CD for a full decade promoting her original music.  We also recorded demo's of songs we wrote together.  We recorded a Christmas cassette titled Rose Country Christmas along with Doug Hergott at his home studio in 1994.   Marilyn recorded her 2nd official CD in Vancouver in 1998 titled Unbridled Heart.  In 2002 we co-wrote all the songs together for a new CD Sultry Summer Nights engineered by Neil Meckelborg.   As a duo we toured western Australia in Oct-Dec 1997 - I had cut my long hair right before we went on that tour.   We also performed at the huge Mirande, France country music festival in July 2001 and we met David Soul (Starsky and Hutch) who was the MC for the event.   At the SCMA (Saskatchewan Country  Music Awards) Marilyn and I were nominated for many categories including 17 best musician nominations I received and Marilyn won Saskatchewan Entertainer of the Year in 1997.  We were a couple from 1993 to 2003 and we lived together in Dalmeny, SK from 2000-2003.

    CROWBAR - OH WHAT A FEELING (1971)

Album:  Bad Manors (1970)

February 1st 1991 - my #7 favorite daily song for 3 days at age 20 while in 2nd year University after picking up the Made in Canada various artists CD that showed off early Canadian band hits.

Crowbar was a Canadian rock band based in Hamilton, Ontario, probably best known for their 1971 hit "Oh, What a Feeling".

From 1969 to 1970, most of the members of the group had been a backup band for Ronnie Hawkins under the name "And Many Others". However, in early 1970, he fired them, saying "You guys are so crazy that you could fuck up a crowbar in three seconds!" They recorded their first album in 1970 (Official Music) as King Biscuit Boy and Crowbar. King Biscuit Boy left the band later in 1970, but continued to appear off-and-on as a guest performer.

Crowbar's rock, blues and boogie mix made it one of Canada's most popular touring bands of the early 1970s. The band toured in the United Kingdom but, otherwise, made little impact outside of Canada.

Crowbar disbanded in 1975, but was revived in 1977; (minus Jozef Chirowski, who had joined Alice Cooper's band) for a tour of eastern Canada with Kelly Jay and others intermittently during the 1980s with club work in southern Ontario

HANSON - I WILL COME TO YOU (1997) hit #9
I Will Come to You" is a song written and performed by the American pop-rock band Hanson. It was the third single from the band's third album Middle of Nowhere (1997). "I Will Come to You" reached number five in the UK Singles Chart and number nine on the U.S. Billboard Hot 100 singles chart.

The music video was filmed in London. In the video Isaac, Taylor and Zac are performing in a forest. They look like angels in the cit streets. There was also another video filmed at the Beacon Theatre in New York.

Hanson is an American pop rock band formed in Tulsa, Oklahoma, by brothers Isaac (guitar, piano, vocals), Taylor (keyboards, piano, guitar, drums, vocals), and Zac Hanson (drums, piano, guitar, vocals). They are best known for the 1997 hit song "MMMBop" from their major label debut album Middle of Nowhere, which earned three Grammy nominations. Despite the enormous commercial success of Middle of Nowhere, the band suffered from the merger that eliminated their label, Mercury Records. The group was moved to Island Def Jam Music Group, which they eventually left after conflict with the label about creative input. Hanson have sold over 16 million records worldwide and have had eight top 40 singles in the UK and six top 40 singles in the US. The band now records under its own label, 3CG Records.

Middle of Nowhere was released in the U.S. on May 6, 1997, selling 10 million copies worldwide. May 6 was declared 'Hanson Day' in Tulsa by Oklahoma's then-governor Frank Keating. Although 'Hanson Day' was originally intended to be a one-time occurrence, many Hanson fans all over the world still recognize May 6 as Hanson Day every year. Hanson's popularity exploded during the summer of 1997, and Mercury Records released Hanson's first documentary Tulsa, Tokyo, and the Middle of Nowhere and their Christmas album Snowed In in the wake of their success. Hanson also launched MOE (which stood for Middle of Everywhere), a fan club magazine that ran for 12 issues. The band was nominated for three Grammy Awards in 1998: Record of the Year, Best New Artist, and Best Pop Performance by a Duo or Group with Vocal.

    TERRY HOKNES - NO ALIBI (2005) Opus #1100 ??

As the new century began a new chapter in songwriting where the focus was more on recording polished songs but writing way less and very sporadic.    I had written 500 songs by the age of 19 and had hit 1000 songs by the age of 25.  But since then I can go over a year at a time without writing a song but really focusing in most cases on a more commercial type of polished song however I still venture into all possible genres.  I continue to play and sing every part on all my songs and recordings.

I hired Neil Meckelborg of Audio Art to record my songs in 2001.  We started out recording a full album at their location downtown behind the Bus depot but eventually worked on recordings at Neil's private studio.  In total we recorded 3 full albums of material of my songs and a full length album of songs I wrote with Marilyn Parney that I produced.  Neil and I also worked on a Trooper hit song karaoke CD in 2001.  I spent 18 months recording with Neil and over 40 songs and over $10,000.00 in studio bills I paid at that time to record the best quality audio ever on my songs.  Neil had used Sonar Cakewalk so I learned how to use it and have used that now for a decade in my own studio.

ALAN WHITE - ONE WAY RAG (1975)

Album: Ramshackled (1975)

Alan White was the drummer for John Lennon & Plastic Ono Band and then the drummer for Yes for the past 40 years.    This progressive/moody/jazz song ended the album and is one I have played over and over.  Yes being one of my favorite groups of all time is the reason I picked up this album in 1987.

Ramshackled is the debut solo album by Alan White, drummer for British progressive rock band Yes. It was released in 1975 on Atlantic Records, during a period when all five of the Yes band members (Jon Anderson, Chris Squire, Steve Howe, Patrick Moraz and White) released solo albums.  White had worked with Pete Kirtley and Kenny Craddock in the Alan Price Set and Happy Magazine. White, Kirtley, Craddock and Colin Gibson then worked together in the short-lived Griffin in 1969. In the early 1970s, White, Kirtley, Craddock, Gibson and Bud Beadle played together in unsigned band Simpson's Pure Oxygen. For his debut solo album, White brought Kirtley, Craddock, Gibson and Beadle back together.

PAUL MCCARTNEY & WINGS - LITTLE WOMAN LOVE (1971)

Album:  Wild Life (1971)

I got this album used and remember listening to it a lot in 1984 at age 13.

Little Woman Love" is a Wings song released as a B-side to the single "Mary Had a Little Lamb" on 12 May 1972.  It was composed by Paul McCartney in 1970 and recorded during the Ram sessions but left off the album, then released as a single, although, in keeping with McCartney's practice at the time, the composition was officially credited to Paul and Linda McCartney.

While "Mary Had a Little Lamb" was dismissed by the critics, it climbed to the Top 10 in the United Kingdom. In the United States, however, radio stations preferred to play "Little Woman Love" more frequently. As a result, the picture sleeve for "Mary Had a Little Lamb" was revised by Apple Records to have a separate listing for the flip side, as shown. However, the single only reached number 28 in the US.

"Little Woman Love" was never released on an album until 1993, when it was included as a bonus track to Wild Life in The Paul McCartney Collection. It was included on the Special and Deluxe editions of the 2012 remaster of Ram

Wild Life is the debut album by Wings. Paul and Linda McCartney had worked with drummer Denny Seiwell on their prior album, Ram, and they added Denny Laine, the former leader of the Moody Blues, to that trio to become Wings.   With a fresh set of McCartney/McCartney tunes, in August 1971 the newly formed Wings recorded their debut in slightly more than a week, with the mindset that it had to be instant and raw in order to capture the freshness and vitality of a live studio recording. Five of the eight songs were recorded in one take. Paul McCartney would later cite the quick recording schedule of Bob Dylan as an inspiration for this.
THEORY OF A DEADMAN - NO SURPRISE (2005)

April 9th 2005 - my #1 favorite current mainstream rock radio hit for 17 weeks making it my #1 favorite mainstream rock song of 2005.

May 2nd 2005 - my #5 favorite daily song for 70 days at age 34 living at Eastview with Michelle/Brianna.  It was at this time we broke up and she moved out as I was interested in Audra at this time and then met Tasha.

June 4th 2005 - my #1 favorite song on the current MuchMusic countdown for 5 weeks.

No Surprise" is Theory of a Deadman's first single off their second album, Gasoline.   "No Surprise" is about a girl who always runs off with guys besides her boyfriend. He says, "It ain't no surprise that bitch is leaving me." Like the band's previous successful hits "Nothing Could Come Between Us" and "Make Up Your Mind" the song was very successful in Canada where it became the band's first Number 1 hit.    The video has been compared to Kelly Clarkson's "Since U Been Gone". This came as a surprise to the band, as they found it quite humorous and said the similarities were not intentional
MARTINA McBRIDE - I NEVER PROMISED YOU A ROSE GARDEN (2005) hit #18 country

December 3rd 2005 - my #1 favorite current country hit for 1 week.

Rose Garden" (also known and covered as "(I Never Promised You A) Rose Garden") is the title of a song written by Joe South, that is best known as recorded by country singer Lynn Anderson. Her October 1970 release topped the U.S. Billboard country chart for five weeks, reached the No. 3 spot on the U.S. Billboard Hot 100 pop chart and hit number one on both Cash Box's and Record World's pop and country singles charts. The song was also a major pop hit internationally, topping the charts in Australia, Canada, New Zealand, and Norway and hitting the top three in the United Kingdom. Anderson's version of "Rose Garden" remains one of the most successful country crossover recordings of all-time

In 2005, Martina McBride included the song on her album of covers, Timeless. This album featured classic country songs from over the years, including "Rose Garden". The song was released as a single, peaking at 18 on the country singles charts.

    AMERICA - I NEED YOU (1972) hit #9

Album:  America (1971)

America is the eponymous debut album released by America in 1971. The album was initially released without "A Horse With No Name," which had not yet been recorded. When "Horse" became a worldwide hit in early 1972, the album was re-released with that track.

The album went to number 1 on the Billboard album chart in the US and stayed there for 5 weeks. It produced two hit singles, "A Horse With No Name" spent three weeks at number 1 on the Billboard singles chart in 1972 (it peaked at number 3 on the Adult Contemporary chart), and "I Need You" hit number 9 on the Billboard singles chart and number 7 on the Adult Contemporary chart Several other songs received radio airplay on FM stations playing album tracks, including "Sandman" (long rumored in the US Navy to be about the VQ-2 air squadron formerly based in Rota, Spain) and "Three Roses". The album was certified platinum by the RIAA for sales in excess of 1 million units in the US.

America is an English-American folk rock band, that originally consisted of Gerry Beckley, Dewey Bunnell and Dan Peek. The three members were barely out of their teens, when they became a musical sensation during 1972, scoring No. 1 hits and winning a Grammy for best new musical artist. Their recording success stretched throughout the 1970s; some of the band's best known songs are "A Horse with No Name", "Sister Golden Hair" (both of which reached No. 1), "Ventura Highway", "Tin Man", "Daisy Jane", and "Lonely People". George Martin produced seven of their albums.

SHANIA TWAIN - NO ONE NEEDS TO KNOW (1995)

Album:  The Woman In Me (1995)

I became a fan of Shania from the day she released her first country single in Canada in Summer 1993 when I was 22.    When she hit superstardom in 1995 I became a Shania fanatic for the next 10 years.  Eventually I had 10 T-shirts and a poster shrine in my office at Eastview and had 3 copies each of all her CD's.    I have seen her live in concert 5 times including:  Canadian Country Music Awards Calgary 1998 and all 4 shows she did in Saskatoon, SK at SaskPlace on June 4th 1998 (her 3rd live show ever!), March 29th 1999, June 9th 2004 and June 11th 2004 (I had front row seat).   She released her 4th CD Up on November 18th 2002 and I bought 62 copies at A&B Warehouse the day it came out as pre-sells that I sold on ebay.  Performing on the road with Marilyn we listened to the Up CD everyday on the road for 10 months.  We performed all 4 major singles from The Woman In Me album for almost a decade.

No One Needs to Know" is the title of a song co-written and recorded by Canadian country music artist Shania Twain. It was released in May 1996 as the sixth single from her 1995 album The Woman in Me. The song was written by Twain and Mutt Lange. The song became Twain's third consecutive number-one hit on country radio, and fourth overall. It spent one week at the top of the chart in July 1996. It was originally released to radio in May 1996. The song was also used in the 1996 film Twister and included on the soundtrack. "No One Needs To Know" was later included on Twain's 2004 Greatest Hits collection.

SPIRIT - FEELING IN TIME (1975)

Album:  Spirit Of 76 (1975)

January 18th 1991 - my #9 favorite daily song for 1 day at age 20 in 2nd year University.  I played bass guitar in the band The Smoking Crawdads with Mark Rogstad, Gerard Saretsky and Jed Evans since October 1990.   I listened to this album continously in Nanny's old bedroom that I was now staying in at Taylor Street using my sister Leslie's little portable record player.

Spirit of '76, released in May 1975, was the first of four albums that Spirit would (initially) release for Mercury Records. Though all four albums were greatly influenced by the time that Randy California spent living in Hawaii, this album bears that influence more than any of the others (aside from maybe Future Games). Though it was largely ignored upon its first release, many fans consider it to be one of Spirit's best albums.   Most of this double album was compiled as part of the Mercury Years compilation in 1997. It was properly reissued on CD by Beat Goes On in 2003.

PAUL McCARTNEY - ENGLISH TEA (2005)

Album:  Chaos And Creation In The Backyard (2005)

I bought this CD new in 2005 but never opened it for over a year until December 2006 at age 35 when I was on a break from Valerie and Nicholas was 8 months old.

Chaos and Creation in the Backyard is the thirteenth solo studio album by Paul McCartney released in 2005. A long time in the making, the set was produced by Radiohead and Beck collaborator Nigel Godrich at George Martin's suggestion.   McCartney plays almost all of the instruments, similar to his 1970 album McCartney and the 1980 McCartney II album. In addition, Chaos And Creation In The Backyard marks the first time since 1984's Give My Regards to Broad Street that McCartney was not involved in producing one of his studio albums.   Chaos and Creation in the Backyard was McCartney's last rock album release for longtime label EMI. He signed a deal with Hear Music, owned by Starbucks, in March 2007

ROY WOOD - CAN'T HELP MY FEELINGS (1975)

Album:  Mustard (1975) CD bonus track

I had been a huge fan of ELO for a while and knew of Roy Wood one of the founding members.  On February 14th 1985 at age 14 (grade 9) I flipped through the bargain bin of records at the Kresge's Department Store in Midtown Plaza shopping mall in Saskatoon and found this new sealed album Mustard priced at 99 cents.   The first time I heard this album that night I knew I had found a masterpiece and Roy Wood would be the first act to ever debut at #1 on my daily favorite music groups chart on that valentines day.  (I declare this to be Roy Wood day).  I bought a used copy of his first album Boulders a week later at Nudon Record shop on Louise & 8th Street.  I flew to New York 17 years later to see Roy Wood 3 times in concert and got to meet him backstage 2 times.  I have posted some of those video performances I filmed on www.youtube.com

February 20th 2002 - my #5 favorite daily song for 21 days at age 31 shortly before flying to New York to see Roy Wood in concert and meeting him. Celebrating the 17th anniversary of Roy Wood day.

Mustard is the second solo album by Roy Wood, who wrote and produced every track and painted the cartoon-style cover. It was completed and released about the same time as he disbanded his group Wizzard. He played all the instruments, and contributed all vocals apart from guest appearances by Annie Haslam, Phil Everly, ex-Move & Wizzard bassist Rick Price, and co-engineer Dick Plant.   "Look Thru’ The Eyes of a Fool" (1975) and "Any Old Time Will Do" (1976) were released as singles, though like the album, neither made the charts
