LETTER FROM NEW MEMBER

"Dear Terry, Thanks a million for the wonderfully speedy delivery of the Apes Chronicles back issues.   I was pleased to see it full of continually updated info.  Particularly enjoyable are the unused rare scripts, reprints of magazine and newspaper articles, personality biographies and filmographies, and of course the classifieds for buyers and collectors...I look forward to future issues of Ape Chronicles.  Keep up the good work!  Thanks again, Brian Brady" (Ape Chronicles member)

"Planet of the Apes" was a ground breaking project that become a huge sensation in 1974 based on 5 motion pictures (1968-1973) The hype died down in 1977 and POTA never saw print again until 1990 when Adventure Comics put out a complete line of ape comics (1990-1993). Ape Chronicles became the meeting place for the new wave of fans

Ape Chronicles fanzine was founded in 1991. It is published in Canada and also includes input from members in the United States, England, Brazil and Germany. Ape Chronicles is published bi-monthly. We are the longest running POTA Fan Club ever now in our 8th year.   Issue #44 has been published.

Ape Chronicles covers all aspects of POTA including articles on the 5 films, the TV show, the Cartoon series, comics and magazines, memorabilia, history and psychology of primates, and complete biographies of the people who brought us the ape characters and stories

Ape Chronicles always keeps readers updated about the progress of a brand new Planet Of The Apes film in the works.

Some of our various articles include:

Members of the High Council (personal bio's of fans)

Ape Encyclopedia (breakdown of plot, scene, and A to Z of every character in a story)

Theories On Time (fan's personal opinion on the time structure of the whole POTA chronology).

Free Classifieds (listing members wants and items for sale)

In each issue you will find unused scripts. In past issues we have printed 2 complete unused scripts for the Planet Of The Apes TV Show in 1974 written by Rod Serling.  We have reviewed the new script for the brand new POTA movie and we are currently printing an early 1965 script for the first movie which has many scenes not used in the movie

Every few years we hold the POTA Readers Poll Survey covering 150 questions on various important aspects of POTA. It is the most comprehensive poll ever dealing with POTA

The Ape Chronicles Library is the only place you can find all of the US Marvel Magazines, comics, paperbacks and various toys and items for sale.  Check out Planet Of The Apes Comics Magazines Collectibles.  If you have any of these items that you would like to sell or trade to us please contact us at the E Mail address above.

Issue #23 was our Memorabilia Special - the most in depth listing of every POTA item ever made from 1963-1996. All forms of memorabilia were indexed with price guide.

We are of course always looking to print YOUR articles, reviews, artwork, general comments and original stories.

We are a non profit group and all expenses are kept to a minimum. The membership rates are very reasonable when you consider that it only costs under $2 a month to stay in touch with the world Planet Of The Apes and other fans.

Back in 1992 / 93 we published a second fanzine titled Ape Crazy, for 7 issues, originating in California. We have all back issues of this fanzine which features rare photos, comic reviews, and commentaries on the series.

Our back issues are reprinted in BOOK FORMAT with new color covers !

Ape Chronicles magazine is the best way for Ape fans to stay in touch with each other, and I highly recommend the International Fan Club to anyone who likes to "go ape".

Thanks for supporting Planet of the Apes, Terry Hoknes, publisher and ape fan

Ape Chronicles is a fan organization not affiliated in any way with 20th Century Fox Film Corporation, the POTA trademark holder.

Please wait up to 2 weeks for your first issue.  Remember to make payment out to Terry Hoknes!
